About This Role:
A well-established SEMH primary school in Sutton is seeking an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join their therapeutic team. This is a full-time, long-term position starting after February half term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school provides specialist provision for children aged 5-11 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, using trauma-informed approaches to help every child reach their potential in a nurturing, structured environment.

What We're Looking For:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEMH, PRU, or specialist primary school environment
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
Experience working with children with one or more of the following:
ADHD
ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Anxiety disorders
Self-harming behaviours and suicidal ideation
Attachment difficulties
Speech & Language difficulties
Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
Exceptional de-escalation and positive behaviour support skills with a calm, consistent approach
Strong emotional resilience and ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable children
Genuine passion for therapeutic education and championing every child's right to succeed
Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Full commitment to safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
