With a strong focus on developing environmentally sustainable products and procedures, we offer clients an eco-friendly way to ensure the integrity of their products and compliance with transport regulations and guidance.
Intelsius has its headquarters and main manufacturing & assembly facility in York and has other manufacturing facilities in USA, Germany, Ireland, India and Malaysia as well as distributors and partners elsewhere in the world.
Our goal is to be recognized as a global leader, providing high quality environmentally safe, temperature-controlled and sample transport solutions to clients worldwide. On a day-to-day basis, our purpose is simple: To assure our customers’ product and sample integrity, with minimal impact on the environment.
The company has ambitious growth plans and now requires a new leader to take control of the operational delivery of our products and services from our UK facility to customers in the UK, Europe and beyond.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To deliver an effective and efficient operations and production function involving planning, procurement, stock and warehouse management, assembly and manufacturing, customer service, transport and logistics.
To continuously improve the operations, production, planning, customer service and logistics functions within a fast-paced, short lead-time environment. To develop and embed a positive and proactive culture across the Operations department. To coach, train, develop, challenge and manage members of the team.
To manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage relationships with key suppliers. Accountable for the delivery of Quality objectives within Operations and Production.
Overseeing your team, you’ll motivate and challenge them to complete tasks in-line with agreed specifications and quality standards. You’ll share your knowledge and develop employees’ skills to enable them to fulfil their potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Ensure on-time in-full delivery of customer orders on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis to agreed specifications and quality standards.
· Deliver effective and timely operational planning & scheduling to meet business and customer demands through purchasing and stock management activities and efficient and timely liaison with Customer Services, Sales, Technical, Quality and Finance teams.
· Work effectively with Quality and Technical teams to maintain component and product supply and help introduce new products.
· Manage the Purchasing function to ensure the supply chain is optimised and establish and maintain external supplier KPI’s. Drive efficiency improvement and cost improvement in purchasing and supplier base.
· Manage efficient and effective stock and warehousing service, deliver perpetual inventory programme and reconciliation against Company systems and records.
· Investigate, recommend and implement process and system improvements to drive production efficiency, increased productivity, cost reduction and quality management.
· Plan, coordinate and assign manpower to meet demanding production schedules.
· Support quality and other inspection/audit readiness activities such as site self-assessments to ensure the site is constantly in a state of inspection readiness.
· Responsible for Health & Safety and related matters for the York site including facilities management, fire & security, contractor management, risk assessments, training and adherence to Company and legal requirements. Observe, promote, and comply with regulatory requirements and corporate standards related to quality, health & safety, security, and GMP.
· Actively lead and participate in continuous process improvements.
· Ensure appropriate processes, systems and training are in place to maintain an effective supply chain.
Required Experience
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
· Experience in supply chain and resource management, contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
· Experience in warehouse management, including systems and processes.
· Experience with quality audits conducted by clients and regulators.
· Passion for, and alignment with, our mission, vision, values & operating principles.
· Strong leadership abilities, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Passion for working in a values-based company in alignment with a learning organisation.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage/Cim 50 or similar MRP or ERP systems.
Preferred Experience
· Experience of manufacturing & product assembly from bought-in components and/or kit-building.
· Project management and process improvement experience.
· Experience with ISO9001.
· Logistics experience to include both pallet and parcel network delivery to UK and overseas; import and export experience.
· Experience with quality requirements of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industries.
