We are searching for a dedicated Off-Shift Deputy Manager to support a leading specialist provider of children’s residential care. This role involves overseeing two children’s residential services in Crediton, caring for children aged 8‑16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Join a supportive team in a role that offers both challenges and immense personal reward. As Deputy Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and high standards of care during off‑shift hours, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for vulnerable children.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage residential services outside of core hours, ensuring high-quality care provision
* Support and mentor staff, providing guidance to maintain their professional development
* Uphold children’s safety and welfare, responding promptly to any incidents or concerns
* Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and care policies
* Foster a positive, caring atmosphere that promotes the emotional wellbeing of children
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the services to improve outcomes for children with EBD
Candidate Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification
* Proven experience as a manager within children’s residential care
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
* Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
* Commitment to high standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance
