As a support to our clinical workforce within the Divisions you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our hospital wards. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being and comfort of our patients, making you an integral part of their healthcare journey.


Responsibilities

* Patient Pathway Coordinator in Gynaecology - 37.5 hours per week, Permanent. Location - John Radcliffe Hospital. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Gynaecology, one of the busiest departments in the Trust on a six month fixed term contract.
* The successful candidate will need to be well organised, quick to learn new systems and flexible in their approach. You will be working alongside 30+ other administrative staff in the department, across three of the hospital sites, but will take responsibility for your own workload of patients being seen by the multidisciplinary team of medics, nurses and allied health professionals.
* Duties:
o Administer all new referrals received via the E referral service, ensuring all are electronically triaged by the appropriate clinical staff member and action as required.
o Process and log all non-Choose and Book referrals on EPR, including registering new patients in addition to updating existing patient details.
o Book new and follow-up outpatient and diagnostic appointments, ensuring that capacity is proactively and efficiently used. This includes booking patients into the correct clinic to ensure that they are seen by the most appropriate clinician.
o Reschedule outpatient appointments as a result of patients calling the service, in line with the 18-week RTT / cancer / screening targets and agreed local processes in respect to patient cancellations.
o Actively review patient DNAs, liaising with the appropriate clinical staff and reschedule patient appointments in line with agreed local processes.
o As required, complete clinic cancellation forms and ensure appropriately authorised (minimum 6 weeks\' notice required) before processing the clinic cancellation on EPR and rescheduling of patient appointments.
o Adding additional clinic capacity on EPR as directed by management, to include the use of adding appointment slots on EPR that can be booked via Choose and Book.
o To be responsible for actively managing the OP PTL and Incomplete lists.
* Disclosures and safeguarding: The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
* Qualifications and experience:
o GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C, NVQ or Apprenticeship in Customer Care or Business Administration, Previous experience within the NHS/public sector
o In-depth understanding of Medical Terminology appropriate to specialism
o Confidentiality and Data Protection Health and Safety Equality and Diversity
o Good knowledge of patient pathways
o An understanding of the Trust\'s Elective Access Policy / Cancer waiting targets / Screening Programme targets as appropriate to the role.
* Desirable criteria:
o EPR Experience
o Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets
o Thorough knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
o Experience of effective waiting list management, Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills
o Pays attention to detail
o Manages and interprets data correctly to inform decision making
o Maintains high standards and quality of work
o Contributes to service improvements and is solution focused
o Completes tasks on time (accurately and to a high quality)
o Organising, planning a prioritising skill
o Follows instructions, adheres to organisational policies, protocols, and procedures
