SEN Teaching Assistant - Post 16 (Complex Autism)

Remedy Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support Post 16 students with complex autism at a specialist provision. The role involves working closely with young people who have significant communication and emotional regulation needs, helping them to access learning and develop independence.
The Role
* Support Post 16 learners with autism and additional needs in both classroom and community settings
* Assist with communication strategies, including PECs, Makaton or other AAC methods (training can be provided)
* Encourage and model positive behaviour, using de-escalation techniques when needed
* Help students develop life skills, social skills and confidence for adulthood
* Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver tailored programmes
