We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Designer to join our culinary team. Duties
* Create customised cake designs based on client specifications, themes, and occasions
* Prepare cake batter, fillings, and frostings in accordance with recipes and food safety standards
* Decorate cakes using various techniques such as piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting
* Ensure all cakes are baked to the correct specifications, maintaining consistency in quality
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area in compliance with food safety regulations
* Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on design options
* Manage multiple orders simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
* Assist in the development of new cake designs and flavours to expand our product range
Skills
* Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or baking within a professional kitchen or bakery environment
* Strong skills in cake decorating techniques such as piping, fondant modelling, and airbrushing
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a culinary setting
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
* Creative flair with an eye for detail and aesthetics
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
* Previous restaurant or bakery experience is desirable but not essential; a passion for culinary arts is a must
