Driving a product culture:
1. Bring 'customer first' and 'speed to value' thinking into the way the business makes decisions and prioritises.
2. Act as an agent of change to help drive product-led ways of working in our teams and with stakeholders, including bringing technology, design, and product together to drive speed to value.
3. Be a key member of the Product Chapter; adding your expertise to the broader community and supporting others.
4. Stay close to our customers using a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools.
Robust delivery:
1. Understanding and driving the flow of work through delivery teams.
2. Prioritise delivery with clear alignment to product strategy, outcomes, and OKRs.
3. Proactively manage team resources, quality standards, delivery timelines, and risks across B&Q and Kingfisher teams.
4. With the support of the Programme Manager, lead complex multi-team delivery.
Team Leadership:
1. As a leader, you'll play an active part in our culture and represent B&Q values and product culture.
2. Drive high performance and engagement within your team through regular 1-to-1s and quarterly check-ins.
3. Support the development of your team members through regular conversations, shared talent development plans, and active coaching.
4. Create an inclusive environment, engaging the team through open and fair leadership.
5. Coach your team and others in product ways of working, including design thinking, innovation, data-led decisions, cross-functional work, and stakeholder management.
What we need: Required Skills & Experience
* Experience with in-store operations and associated Digital Products, especially with B&Q and .com+ is desirable.
* In-depth experience of digital product management, governance models, and delivery frameworks.
* Strong knowledge of application capabilities, integration, development methodologies, and industry best practices.
* Experience of significant transformation leadership and management.
* Good understanding of product design frameworks, methodologies, and user research.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of a business.
* Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on the bigger picture.
* Experience in team and line management.
* Experience working in an agile environment with matrix management.
* Understanding of development frameworks, code management, and infrastructure operation.
* Knowledge of web analytics and optimization solutions, especially Google Analytics.
* Ability to build relationships and influence up to Board level.
* Representing B&Q at external events.
* Be a product thought leader and help embed a product culture at B&Q.
* Comfortable navigating and simplifying ambiguity.
Position Details:
Permanent role, up to £80,000 + Pension + PMI + ShareSave + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working (1/2 days per week in the office) in Southampton, Store Support Office.
Role Purpose:
This role leads the technology underpinning our loyalty programmes, making significant investments to enhance our existing propositions and designing a modern, future-fit technology stack and customer proposition. It includes managing one direct report responsible for Mar-tech and priorities.
