Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee our welding operations and ensure high-quality fabrication and assembly of metal components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a solid background in various welding techniques, including stick welding. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to meet production goals.
Duties
* Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
* Train and mentor welding staff on best practices, techniques, and safety protocols.
* Inspect completed welds for quality assurance and compliance with specifications.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints and technical drawings for fabrication projects.
* Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition for optimal performance.
* Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
Experience
* Proven experience in a welding supervisory role or similar position within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in various welding methods, particularly stick welding, as well as the use of hand tools and power tools.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assemble and fabricate metal components from sheet metal.
* Basic maths skills for calculations related to measurements, angles, and material requirements.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
