About the role: As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support young people in the many different aspects of daily life within our homes including:
* Helping young people continue with hobbies, social activities, and friendships, and learn new skills.
* Supporting young people to reach their potential and experience new opportunities.
* Conducting Supervisions for staff members.
* Manage the home effectively in the absence of the Deputy or Manager.
* Effectively lead shifts, direct and support colleagues.
* Manage health and safety processes in the home including the implementation and monitoring of risk assessments.
* Support the induction of colleagues into the home.
* Be responsible for safeguarding and actively promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Purpose of the post
To provide advice, guidance, nurture, and support to young people and be responsible for the day-to-day care. To act as an appropriate role model and to support young people to achieve their optimum potential. To support, supervise and inspire colleagues to enable them to fulfil their job descriptions.

Main duties
* Professional Child Care Practice: provide a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help young people progress.
* Inspiring culture with high expectations to enable young people and colleagues to reach their potential.
* Manage the home in the absence of the Deputy or Manager; lead shifts and supervise colleagues.
* Supervise colleagues and manage performance to ensure high-quality service delivery.
* Monitor and control expenditures in line with financial procedures.
* Support induction of new colleagues; safeguard and promote welfare of children and young people.
* Monitor for signs of distress or abuse and ensure safeguarding is active.
* Contribute to development through healthy lifestyle and stimulating activities; model consistent and caring relationships.
* Maintain consistent boundaries to create safety; build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
* Collaborate with professionals (e.g., schools, social workers) and support integration into social activities and education where appropriate.
* Use reactive strategies to support behaviour; assist in care planning and reviews; work with therapeutic colleagues for integrated care.
* Work with prospective carers to support successful family integration when placed.
* Participate in team meetings, supervision, and feedback; report concerns (whistleblowing) per procedures.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures; maintain high standards in home management, health and safety, and overall care.
* Attend training to develop skills and experience; keep up-to-date with good practice.
