CREDIT ANALYST / MANCHESTER / HYBRID / £23,000-£27,500 PLUS BENEFITS
WEX Europe is a leading provider of fuel cards. We manage a range of flexible fuel cards in several key markets across Europe. Due to ongoing growth, we are looking to recruit a Credit Analyst to join our Credit team.
The Credit Risk team is responsible for monitoring customer spending against their authorized credit limits, underwriting all applications across eight European countries, and assessing the risk of extending credit to applicants. The team also manages the portfolio proactively to ensure continuous monitoring of customers' financial condition and performance.
Our portfolio covers a wide range of business types and sizes, from small enterprises to large corporate businesses and institutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Analyst:
* Assess and measure the risk of extending credit to all applicants
* Evaluate the financial position and creditworthiness of applications
* Interpret and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and management accounts
* Strive to accept all business by managing higher-risk customers through means such as reduced terms and securities
* Minimize business risk with a focus on fraud screening
* Manage multiple European portfolios
* Assess, analyze, and report exposure positions to determine risk levels
* Manage overtrade risks where customer exposures can change rapidly
* Make informed credit decisions based on gathered information, within credit parameters, with commercially balanced recommendations
* Analyze customer financial statements and B2B credit reports
* Maximize volume opportunities and growth aligned with business goals
* Maintain customer contact and daily interactions with credit and sales teams in different countries
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Credit Teams, Sales Teams, and Customer Service Advisors
Experience you’ll bring:
* Proven analytical skills to assess financial information
* Previous experience in credit underwriting, analysis, or a similar role
* Experience working with main credit reference agencies
* Strong administrative skills, including data capture and reconciliation
* Advanced Excel skills
* Knowledge of underwriting processes in European countries
* European language skills are advantageous but not essential
* Strong decision-making skills
* High attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively with all management levels and staff
