Role: Artworker

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,720 and £26,000 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Artworker to join our Marketing department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Artworker, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. Creative Content Production – Supports the Branding and Design Executive in creating high-quality visual content using Adobe Creative Cloud tools, ensuring consistency across print and digital platforms.
2. Brand Compliance & Campaign Delivery – Follows brand guidelines to produce assets for social media, websites, email campaigns, and print materials, maintaining alignment with the Group’s tone and values.
3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, contributes to creative discussions, and educates departments on branding principles.
4. Quality Control & Process Improvement – Proofs and formats artwork, ensures brand compliance, and identifies opportunities to streamline design workflows and enhance creative output.
5. Event Support & Flexibility – Assists with key events such as Open Days and Graduation Ceremonies, and undertakes additional duties as required to support the Marketing & Digital team’s objectives.

About you:

6. Qualifications & Technical Skills – Holds a degree in design or equivalent experience, with strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office applications.
7. Creative Experience & Accuracy – Demonstrates a strong design portfolio and experience working on live briefs, with high attention to detail, proofreading skills, and a commitment to quality.
8. Communication & Collaboration – Communicates confidently across formats, engages effectively with stakeholders, and contributes positively to team dynamics while respecting colleagues’ expertise.
9. Values & Professional Conduct – Works in line with organisational values (teamwork, inclusivity, student-centeredness, continuous improvement, openness, caring, educational excellence), maintaining professionalism and integrity.
10. Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding and continuous development, with a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with vulnerable groups.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
