Service Coordinator - Staying Close Team
Location: Croydon (Hybrid - 2 days WFH, 3 days office based)
Contract: Full‑time, 36 hours per week
Pay: PAYE £20.38 per hour / Umbrella £27.03 per hour
Department: Children, Young People & Education - 16+ Leaving Care Service
DBS: Enhanced with Children's Barred List
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Service Coordinator to join the Staying Close and Co‑located Housing Team. This vital role provides high‑quality administrative and coordination support, helping ensure the smooth delivery of services for care‑experienced young people (CEYP).
You will play a key part in maintaining robust administrative systems, supporting multi‑agency communication, managing key business processes, and enabling frontline staff to focus on direct work with young people.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Service Coordination
Provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to the Staying Close and Co‑located Housing Team.
Maintain accurate record‑keeping, data entry, and audit‑ready documentation.
Manage information flow between internal teams and external partners.
Data, Performance & Reporting
Produce and interpret Excel‑based reports to support performance monitoring and service planning.
Maintain accurate databases, trackers, and performance information.
Meetings, Events & Engagement
Organise and coordinate meetings, workshops, and engagement activities involving CEYP and partner agencies.
Support logistics, minute‑taking, scheduling, and preparation of materials.
Financial Administration
Process invoices and purchase orders.
Track expenditure in line with council procedures.
Communication & Multi‑Agency Support
Facilitate communication between housing, benefits agencies, health professionals, education, voluntary organisations, and internal teams.
Promote an inclusive, trauma‑informed, and relationship‑based approach.
Compliance & Safeguarding
Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding standards at all times.
Support improvements to administrative and business processes.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Highly organised with strong administrative and coordination skills.
Confident using Excel and able to interpret data for reporting.
A strong communicator across multiple professional groups.
Experienced in maintaining accurate records and supporting operational workflows.
Able to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to service improvement.
Emotionally resilient, understanding the needs of care‑experienced young people.
Committed to equality, diversity, inclusion, and trauma‑informed practice.
What You'll Bring
Previous experience in administration, coordination, or business support (public sector or social care experience desirable).
Strong IT skills, including Excel, Outlook, and digital filing systems.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
