Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist - Renal, permanent B8B 1wte position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1WTE Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist (8b) to support the Renal Psychology team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The team is well-established, and the successful candidate will work alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, an Assistant Psychologist, and a Young Adult Worker within a highly valued renal multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The renal service is regional, caring for patients with acute and chronic renal failure across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and South Staffordshire. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulate treatment plans, and deliver interventions for adults with kidney failure, including inpatient, outpatient, face-to-face, and virtual work. Opportunities include developing referral pathways, training renal staff, and participating in MDT meetings.
The department is rapidly growing, with over 30 Clinical Psychologists and trainees. We maintain strong links with local universities and regional clinical psychology training courses.

Person Specification
Training & Qualifications
* Post-graduate doctoral training in clinical psychology accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, psychometrics, neuropsychology, multiple psychological therapies, and lifespan development psychology.
* Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist status and HCPC registration.
* Post-qualification specialist training, including supervision of trainees.
Experience
* Extensive experience as a qualified clinical psychologist.
* Experience with medical and health conditions, diverse client groups, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Supervision, training, and research experience within health settings.
Skills & Abilities
* Effective communication of complex information.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and organizational stress management.
* Development of multimedia presentation materials.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to travel between hospital sites and dialysis units.
* Up-to-date immunizations (TB, HepB).
* Resilience to work with distressed and challenging individuals.
