We are offering a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist role covering Scarborough, Whitby, and Ryedale areas. The role spans diverse settings—educational settings, clinics, and homes—managing a range of clinical presentations in speech, language, and communication. We look for a leader who champions patients’ needs and can provide supervision and training to junior staff.
Responsibilities
* Conduct specialised speech and language therapy assessments and manage a specific group of patients within a defined clinical specialty.
* Assess, treat, and provide specialist advice for patients with complex conditions.
* Work independently, handling a caseload of patients with complex physical, psychological, and cognitive needs.
* Offer support, specialised advice, and training to junior staff and students.
* Act as a resource within the department and provide specialised information and advice regarding patients in the clinical group.
* Maintain records, contribute to business‑related information for service development and priorities, initiate evidence‑based audits and projects for clinical practice improvement.
* Work flexibly within the department, respond to service needs, and support colleagues dealing with the patient group.
Requirements
* Ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day.
* Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence.
