Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd (UK) are currently recruiting for a Cabling Project Manager from a construction/ electricity supply industry background preferably with extensive experience in tendering and delivering large EHV cable projects to support with ongoing tenders and delivery of a secure pipeline of works in the Glen Strathfarrar area of Scotland. You should have substantial experience of development and delivery of multi-million-pound projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget. Experience of working on SSEN, NGET and similar cabling transmission and distribution network operators is preferred. This opportunity will involve site-based travel, and you will be predominantly working in Scotland, with flexibility in your work location. You may be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across the whole of Scotland. You will be expected to visit site walks for tenders when required, and also work from home and your nearest Wood office to suit business needs.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager HV & EHV Cables, you will be responsible for managing and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, ensuring high standards in project execution and aligning with Wood and client objectives. You should have a proven track record in leading project teams through all phases of cabling projects, with strong programme, planning, and commercial management skills. Familiarity with SSEN and NGET standards is preferred.

Responsibilities
* Assist in bid preparations and strategic planning
* Manage all project stages to meet milestones
* Support project mobilisation and scope approval
* Ensure compliance with project controls, safety standards, and contractual obligations
* Lead project teams, manage risks, and report progress
* Promote safety culture and quality standards
* Manage project documentation, budgets, and schedules
* Address issues proactively and lead troubleshooting
* Ensure lessons learned are incorporated and standards maintained
Qualifications
* Engineering qualification (HND / HNC) or equivalent experience
* Project management certification (e.g., APM) preferred
* Knowledge of engineering principles, CDM guidelines, and cabling techniques
* SHE qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
* Experience with SSEN, NGET, or similar operators is advantageous
* Strong commercial, contractual, and relationship management skills
* Ability to work remotely and hold a valid driver’s license
