We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Reception Manager to lead the reception function at Annabel's, our world-renowned private members' club in Mayfair and part of The Birley Clubs.
Annabel's at 46 Berkeley Square spans 26,000 square feet and is home to multiple restaurants, bars, private dining rooms, and a cigar salon. Delivering exceptional service to our Members and their guests is at the heart of everything we do, and the Reception team plays a pivotal role in shaping first and last impressions.
As Reception Manager, you will oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the reception area, ensuring the highest standards of guest care on arrival and departure while leading, developing, and inspiring the team. You will also play a key role in optimising reservations and building relationships within the local luxury network.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the reception team to deliver warm, seamless, and attentive service at all times
Maintain an exceptional level of guest care from arrival through departure
Build and maintain strong relationships with Members, regular guests, and VIPs
Promote and develop a loyal customer base, communicating key information to the team
Handle members feedback professionally, ensuring concerns are resolved promptly
Oversee effective utilisation of OpenTable to optimise capacity across services
Ensure accurate data capture, booking procedures, and updates for cancellations and no-shows
Use reporting tools to support business growth and informed decision-making
Recruit, train, and develop the Reception and Maître d' team
Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans
Deliver regular on-the-job training to maintain company standards
Oversee induction of new team members
Manage rotas effectively in line with payroll budgets
Maintain impeccable presentation and professionalism across the team
Coordinate with restaurant management and operations team to optimise members flow
Oversee cloakroom operations and members assistance
Maintain a visible presence in front-of-house areas, resolving issues proactively
Ensure compliance with health & safety, security, and company procedures
Monitor reception areas for maintenance issues and liaise with relevant teams
About You
Proven experience in a Reception Manager or senior front-of-house role within a luxury hospitality environment
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
Excellent knowledge of reservation systems desirable
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Professional, polished, and discreet, with a passion for outstanding guest service
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-profile environment
