This role is perfect for someone who wants to commit to work that is making a real difference in an evolving, disruptive charity committed to saving lives from Brain Haemorrhages.
This is a part‑time position for an organised, creative, confident and proactive individual, based in or near Manchester/ Northwest, who will be responsible for running The Natalie Kate Moss Trust’s Community Blood Pressure Awareness Days.
ABOUT THE NATALIE KATE MOSS TRUST
The Natalie Kate Moss Trust was established in 2012 by the Moss family following the unexpected passing of Natalie at the age of 26 due to a sudden Brain Haemorrhage (Haemorrhagic Stroke). The trust's mission is to transform this tragedy into something positive by supporting groundbreaking research on the prevention and treatment of brain haemorrhages, aiming to prevent further tragedies.
Every year, there are 4.6 million cases of brain haemorrhages and sadly only 3 out of 5 patients will survive beyond one month after experiencing one, with 3 million deaths occurring every year.
What’s worse is that these statistics haven’t changed in 40 years; in contrast breast cancer survival has doubled in that same period, with four out of five patients surviving at 10 years.
This is why this work is so incredibly important to prevent as many brain haemorrhages from happening in the first place and to find better treatments to improve the outcome when they do happen.
At the core of our work, NKMT aims to be bold and stand out, challenging the status quo in order to disrupt a very noisy charity sector and make an impact, whether that is through our branding, strategy, or events.

OUR PREVENTION CAMPAIGN
Not all brain haemorrhages can be prevented; but some can be. At The Natalie Kate Moss Trust we aim to Prevent the Preventable. But what does that mean…? We firmly believe that we can prevent more, potentially preventable, tragedies from occurring through educating and empowering more people to better understand why brain haemorrhages happen so that they can take back control of their own health. Whilst there are many causes of brain haemorrhages, one of the leading causes - and the one that is the easiest to manage - is our blood pressure.
High blood pressure can cause damage to the blood vessels in the brain over time, and, therefore, managing your blood pressure is immensely important to avoid such damage. If there is any damage to the vessels in the brain, they are more susceptible to a bleed, and if there continues to be a large amount of pressure going into those vessels, they are even more likely to bleed.
On average, a third of the population has high blood pressure, but 50% of those people are undiagnosed (Source: Stroke UK) and therefore at risk of brain haemorrhage. If we can individually understand, check and manage our blood pressure better, we are able to significantly reduce the risk of having a bleed on the brain.
Our Prevention Campaign endeavours to drive education and awareness to empower more people to better understand and manage their blood pressure, whilst working to create systemic changes where possible to how we check and manage blood pressure collectively as a society.
Live Initiatives that are a part of our prevention campaign:
* Blood Pressure Awareness Days (we run a stand in various locations and speak to passers‑by about the importance of blood pressure and check their blood pressure on the day)
* Lunch and Learn Sessions
* The Prevent The Preventable Podcast
* Bringing Blood Pressure to the PSHE curriculum in schools
* Making blood pressure checks more available at Optometrists appointments
