The role
We are seeking an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis for the entire academic year starting September 2026.This role is ideal for a confident and proactive individual who has a solid background in Early Years and is passionate about supporting young children in their formative stages of development.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the class teacher in delivering a creative and engaging EYFS curriculum
2. Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development
3. Assist with planning and setting up stimulating activities across all areas of learning
4. Support children’s social, emotional andmunication development
5. Carry out observations and contribute to assessments in line with EYFS requirements
6. Encourage positive behaviour and independence
7. Help maintain a safe, inclusive and weing classroom environment
8. Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Requirements
9. Previous experience working in an Early Years setting is essential
10. Relevant qualification ( CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or equivalent)
11. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
12. Experience supporting children with a range of needs, including EAL (desirable in a diverse setting)
13. A positive, patient and nurturing approach
14. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
15. Ability to use initiative and adapt to a busy classroom environment
