Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEN Location: North Kent
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (Term Time)
Pay: Competitive – dependent on experience
The Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children and young people with special educational needs across specialist and mainstream SEN provisions in the North Kent area.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of needs, helping them to access education, develop independence and achieve their individual learning goals.

1. Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC / ASD)
2. SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
3. ADHD
4. PMLD / SLD
5. Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
6. Complex needs and challenging behaviour
Key Responsibilities
7. Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
8. Support pupils in line with EHCPs, IEPs and behaviour plans
9. Assist with differentiated learning activities and interventions
10. Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and engagement
11. Support with personal care where required (training provided)
12. Encourage independence, communication and social skills
13. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and multidisciplinary teams
14. Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
15. Experience working with children or young people with SEN
16. Background as an LSA, SEN TA, Support Worker or Care Worker (desirable)
17. Understanding of ASD, SEMH and complex needs
18. Calm, patient, resilient and empathetic approach
19. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
20. Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
