Pupil Support Leader

We are seeking an inspirational and passionate Pupil Support Leader to join the experienced Integrated Support Team at The Royal High School.
The Royal High School, one of Scotland's oldest schools, combines a rich history with a commitment to innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive school serving students from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond, and Davidson's Mains.
The school was inspected by HMIE in December 2022 and boasts a strong leadership team, including the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers, and the Business Manager. The staff includes 100 FTE teachers and 21 FTE support staff, such as Pupil Support Assistants, supporting student integration. The school features an integrated Additional Support for Learning Team and Wellbeing Bases.
The school's facilities, refurbished in 2004 and with a new extension opening in 2024, support a range of extracurricular activities and community engagement. The school has positive relationships with parents, local businesses, and the community, including active Parent and Pupils' groups.

Role Overview
The Pupil Support Leader will be part of a leadership team of six teachers, responsible for ensuring high-quality pupil support to maximize attainment and well-being. The role involves co-managing the Pupil Support department and leading initiatives related to PSE/HWB courses.
The role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring pupil support policies aligned with national priorities, and teaching up to 50% of the timetable.
