Kings Hill Community Centre is a vibrant and welcoming hub at the heart of our community, providing space for events, activities, and services. We are looking for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Operations and Administrative Support Officer to oversee the smooth and safe running of our building and services.
The Role
As Health & Safety Operations and Administrative Support Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the Centre is safe, well-maintained, and fully compliant with health and safety standards. You will also manage contracts, oversee building services, and coordinate maintenance work, making sure the Centre remains a safe and welcoming environment for all users and support the Parish Councils administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Manage contracts and liaise with service providers (e.g. cleaning, waste management, security, utilities).
· Arrange ad-hoc maintenance, repairs, and servicing of the building and equipment.
· Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance schedules, health & safety compliance and risk assessments.
· Act as the main point of contact for health, safety, and facilities queries.
· Report to the Parish Clerk, Deputy Clerk and liaise with the Caretaker on operational matters.
· Coordinate and record staff training and induction process.
· Log and follow up on incidents and near misses
Administrative support
* Provide general administrative support including filing and document management
* Support internal communications and marketing activities
* Support meeting preparation
About You
We are looking for someone with:
· Experience in facilities management, health & safety, or operations.
· Strong organisational and communication skills.
· Knowledge of health and safety regulations
· A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
· The ability to work independently and manage priorities.
· Excellent attention to detail
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
