Senior Software Engineer - React/Node/Nest

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation, where you will lead within a cross-functional squad, helping to build scalable, secure, and high-quality web applications.
In this role you will act as a technical leader, setting direction through example, guiding implementation decision, and supporting the overall quality and resilience of solutions being delivered. Day-to-day you will be focused on a balance of hands-on development, technical ownership, and mentoring.
What you'll do
* Lead frontend engineering within the squad, setting high standards for code quality, performance, and resilience while remaining hands-on with delivery
* Design and build modular, scalable applications using micro frontend architecture and BFF patterns
* Develop and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript, contributing daily to squad deliverables
* Provide technical oversight across design and delivery, driving continuous improvement in engineering standards and practices
* Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate closely with product, platform, and distributed teams in an Agile environment
What you'll bring
* Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and Node (Nest)
* Proven background working as a Senior Engineer within agile, product-led environments, combining delivery with technical leadership
* Experience designing and working with micro frontends, BFF patterns, and modular, distributed architectures
* Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and secure application development (authentication, authorisation, OWASP)
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring engineers and contributing to team improvement
