DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Test Technology Engineer Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Test Technology Business Segment in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer 2026. The requirements are for the successful candidate to be on-site 5 days per week, so it is important that you can relocate, or be within a commutable distance to site
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work within a team focused on test facility development and technical improvement projects, while maintaining existing capabilities:
1. Co-ordinating projects based around infrastructure and technology used in testing and development activity.
2. Developing and applying practical skillset through resolution of equipment or facility troubleshooting.
3. Communicating with engineering teams around ongoing test and development projects.
4. Working with global teams on upcoming Cummins technology.
5. Developing capabilities and use cases of measurement equipment and transducers, used for emissions or mechanical characteristics of system performance
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
6. Studying for a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or studying for a degree with a keen interest in using technology to solve business problems.
7. Ability to quickly absorb and learn new technologies as the rate of advancement in technology continues to push boundaries.
8. Must be a team player, with the ability to manage their own workload and balance multiple tasks / projects at one time.
9. Effective communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts in simple terms.
