The Opportunity
We are seeking both Senior and Principal Energy & Carbon Consultants to join our Electrical Building Services Engineering team. You will deliver innovative, sustainable, and technically excellent solutions across multidisciplinary projects and help clients achieve net zero carbon goals.
Working with building physicists, sustainability consultants, carbon and energy specialists, and BIM modellers, you will shape the future of the built environment.
Your Role
In Both Roles, You Will
* Lead and contribute to projects from feasibility through to completion across a variety of sectors.
* Develop and implement decarbonisation strategies for new and existing assets, including life-cycle carbon and cost option assessments.
* Use and enhance analytical tools and economic models to optimise energy, carbon and financial performance.
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver integrated, sustainable design solutions.
* Contribute to our digital transformation by exploring automation and data-driven design approaches.
Senior Engineer Responsibilities
* Take ownership of project elements and support delivery across multiple workstreams.
* Provide technical input and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Support junior engineers and contribute to design quality and consistency.
* Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Principal Engineer Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to the MEP team on a portfolio of projects locally, nationally and internationally, ensuring correct technical approaches are applied and carried out.
* Lead client engagement, fee proposals, and commercial discussions.
* Oversee project delivery, resource planning, and team development.
* Mentor and guide engineers, ensuring high standards of design and innovation.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Architectural & Environmental Engineering, with Chartered Engineer status through IET or CIBSE (or on track to achieve chartership).
* Proven experience in the design and delivery of electrical systems within complex building projects.
* Track record in developing and implementing decarbonisation strategies, including life-cycle carbon and cost assessments.
* Familiarity with sector regulations, energy performance standards, and low-carbon technologies.
* Experience in multidisciplinary teams, with exposure to sustainability, carbon modelling, and digital design tools.
* For Principal role: demonstrated leadership in project delivery, client engagement, team development, and commercial management.
