Offer description

Are you a flexible team player with a passion for adapting to new ways of working? Does the idea of developing and delivering innovative practice excite you?

If you answered Yes, we want you to be part of our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Fife.

We are looking for Health Visitors who have a strong understanding of current developments in health visiting, a proven track record of continuous professional development, and a passion for implementing innovative practice.

As a Health Visitor with NHS Fife, you will deliver a high-quality, culturally sensitive, and accessible service to children and families, working collaboratively with service users, care providers, and other agencies. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and embrace skill-mix teamwork.

Some of these positions can be challenging, requiring experience in addressing a variety of health and social issues. However, in return, we offer excellent learning and development opportunities within a stimulating and rewarding environment.

Key Requirements:
• Proven knowledge and experience in health visiting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to travel throughout the area of service delivery
• Experience with a variety of health and social issues
• A passion for client-centred, safe, and clinically effective care

Why NHS Fife?
Fife is a fantastic place to develop your career with the NHS. Known for its vibrant fishing villages, beautiful beaches, and peaceful countryside, Fife has something for everyone. Its excellent transport links also ensure you're never far from Scotland's major cities.
We are passionate about improving our service and actively encourage local community involvement to help shape the future of NHS Fife. If you share our vision and are committed to delivering high-quality care to children and families, we want to hear from you.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

As from 1/4/2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. Please note that the pay scale in this advert will not be changing as a result

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
