Role Overview
When working with children with special educational needs, you need to be patient, highly understanding, and extremely caring to provide the best possible educational journey for each student, as everyone deserves.
Availability
We offer full-time and part-time roles, including day-to-day work, short-term, and long-term positions.
Potential Student Needs
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may work with students with various needs, including:
* ASD (Autism)
* ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
* MLD (Mild Learning Difficulties)
* SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
* SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
Key Skills and Qualities
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Sensitivity and understanding
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* Active listening skills
* Ability to support children's physical, social, and emotional welfare
* Flexibility and openness to change
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Ability to adapt teaching support according to students' needs
Essential Requirements
* Enhanced DBS Disclosure (preferably on the update service; we can assist with application)
* Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
* Professional reference checks
* CV covering the last 5 years of employment where possible
* Legal right to work in the UK
