We arelooking for an experienced manager who will work closely with partners to setthe strategy for the ongoing successful development of the practice and toensure the safe, effective and financially intelligent running of the businesswith a focus on high quality patient care.
You will beresponsible for managing practice finance, patient services, premises management, health and safety, compliance with CQC regulation.
You would work closely with our personnel manager who would have responsibility for day to day running of the surgery, staffing issues, HR, QOF and enhanced services.

About us
Newburn surgery is situated in Newburn village approximately 5 miles from Newcastle town centre. We are a 7000 patient practice, with 4 GPpartners, 15 members of staff and a good CQC rating. We also have a branch surgery in Lemington. We are lucky to have amultidisciplinary clinical team. We are a teaching practice for student nurses, medical students, F2 doctors and GP registrars. We are an active member of Newcastle Outer West PCN. We are a friendly and happy team who strive to provide best possible holistic care for our patients

Job responsibilities
Participate in the setting of practice objectives, priorities and targets for action and monitor the implementation of objectives to meet such targets.
Keep up-to-date with any contractual changes and work with partners to develop a plan to achieve any new targets or requirements.
Liaise with the accountants, bank representatives and Health Authority
Oversee day-to-day management of the practice financial systems
Positively contribute to the ongoing financial stability of the practice
Ensure the practice receives any payments owed in a timely fashion
Manage buildings, repairs, fixtures and fittings andmaintenance of exterior. Ensure thebuildings are fit for purpose, adequately maintained and functional
Assess ownperformance and take accountability for own actions
Contribute to theeffectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and foster aculture of continuous improvement
Work with the partners to prepare thepractice for visits ( from the CQC)
Ensure compliancewith national, NHS and practice data protection guidelines andlegislation
Ensure health andsafety policies and procedures are implemented and regularly reviewed
Represent andadvocate for the practice when dealing with other agencies and within the widerhealthcare sector ( PCN, and ICB)

Qualifications
Essential
1. Management experience in an organisation of similar size and complexity.
2. Strong people leadership skills.
3. Ability to work and use initiative to resolve issues but escalate problems or questions as appropriate.
4. Strong customer service ethic and skills.
5. Well organised with the ability to prioritise and balance conflicting priorities.
6. Negotiation and conflict management.
7. Ability to work under pressure.
8. Team builder, strong relationship management (internal and external).
9. Able to take direction from the partners and implement priorities.
10. Strong IT skills (including use of Word, Excel, email, calendars, etc).
11. Basic financial literacy and ability to understand practice accounts
