Hays Education is working in partnership with a high‑performing and values‑driven secondary academy in North London to recruit a skilled andmitted Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA to take on a key support role within a secondary setting that places a strong emphasis on inclusion, high expectations and positive relationships.
Your new role
As a Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide targeted support to students, including 1:1 and small‑group work
2. Deliver pre‑planned learning activities and interventions under teacher direction
3. Support students with additional needs, including SEND and behavioural support
4. Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting engagement in learning
5. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to raise attainment and progress
6. Contribute to assessment, monitoring and reporting of student progress where appropriate
What you'll need to succeed
We are keen to hear from candidates who:
7. Hold a Level 3 TA qualification, HLTA status, or equivalent relevant qualification
8. Have experience working in a secondary school environment
9. Demonstrate confidence supporting learning across a range of subjects and abilities
10. Are calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
11. Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
12. Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS
