Do you have experience as an Operations Technician or Technical Operator in a manufacturing environment? Are you looking for a permanent role with flexible shifts? If so, this vacancy at our Prudhoe Paper Mill on our toilet tissue line may be suitable for you. Our Prudhoe site houses two paper machines and seven converting lines, turning tissue paper into finished products. This role is based on one of these converting lines, working a 4-on/6-off and 4-on/4-off 12-hour shift pattern. With around 400 employees, the site operates 24/7, manufacturing essential products such as Cushelle and Plenty.

About the Role
As an Operations Technician, you will be responsible for your area of the machine, supporting fault-finding and problem-solving activities, and liaising with Operators, Team Leaders, and Engineering teams. You will provide training and coaching during shifts where technical assistance is needed. Additionally, you will support priority areas as requested by Team Leaders, depending on your skills.
Your role is to help maintain and improve the operational efficiency of your area by ensuring regular and effective maintenance, solving problems to root cause safely and efficiently to meet business needs.
What You Will Do
* Operate as a member of the production team, running any part of the process as required.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures, conduct risk assessments, participate in quality inspections, continuous improvement activities, and perform regular cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
* Perform tasks in accordance with site safety practices, attend safety training, and contribute to safety audits.
* Comply with lock-off/tag-out procedures (LOTO).
* Report safety issues to the Team Leader.
* Ensure on-line quality checks are completed accurately and promptly, taking necessary actions.
* Manage production schedules via on-site systems and coordinate changeover activities.
* Participate in shift handovers, communicating clearly with colleagues.
* Complete scheduled maintenance activities in your designated area.
* Perform machine start-ups and stops, logging issues, breakdowns, and repairs following standard procedures.
Who You Are
You will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork. You should communicate clearly, support colleagues, and be results-oriented. You will follow instructions, take responsibility for your area, and use your initiative to resolve technical problems. Educationally, a minimum NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical discipline such as mechanical or electrical is required.
