About the Role
This role sits within Energy UK's Policy Team and focuses on some of the most complex and high-impact areas of the energy system, including:
Network regulation - particularly RIIO price controls and connections reform
Infrastructure delivery - ensuring the grid is fit for net zero
Governance and licensing - including NESO and system operator arrangements
Stakeholder engagement - representing the sector in meetings, working groups, and conferences
Briefing and analysis - preparing papers for the Executive Team and BoardWe're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a technically complex space. You'll need to be confident navigating regulatory frameworks and translating them into clear, actionable insights for members and stakeholders.
You'll likely have:
Experience in energy policy, regulation, or infrastructure
Knowledge of networks infrastructure, connections, or licensing
Experience at a regulator, network or systems operator or code administrator
Strong analytical and communication skills
Political awareness and stakeholder engagement experienceBonus points for:
Knowledge of EV infrastructure, spatial planning, or locational pricing
