We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Service Engineer to support our aftersales and service operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining earthmoving equipment and attachments, both in the field and in our workshop. You will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction while contributing to continuous product improvement and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and carry out safe, in-depth repairs of earthmoving machinery and components.
* Accurately identify required parts and communicate with customers and the service control team to ensure timely resolution.
* Liaise closely with the Service Manager and Aftersales Manager to report field faults for factory feedback and product improvement.
* Visit dealer/customer sites for breakdown response, diagnostics, and technical support.
* Participate in campaign and product improvement work as issued.
* Assist in PDIs (Pre-Delivery Inspections) and machine readiness in the depot when not assigned to field work.
* Deliver technical training to dealers and key accounts, including preparing PowerPoint training material and other instructional aids.
* Support the development and use of service repair reports for each job, and ensure information is recorded on the CRM system.
* Maintain communication on product performance and updates with the Service and Aftersales Managers.
* Collaborate with the service controller to ensure all machine movements and work are properly logged in the CRM system, including field repairs, PDIs, and workshop tasks.
* Promote and uphold Health & Safety practices across field and depot environments.
* Monitor depot equipment conditions, report tool damage or losses, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
* Lead by example in work ethic, safety compliance, and team collaboration.
* Provide outstanding aftersales support, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and dealers.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in servicing construction machinery or earthmoving equipment.
* Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills, both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
* Ability to prepare and deliver technical training using structured materials.
* Competency in using CRM and Microsoft Office software.
* Willingness to travel for site support and product training (including occasional training abroad, e.g., Germany).
* Full UK driving licence.
