Enhanced Teaching Assistant Grade 5 £26,403 - £28,598 pro rata 30 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks Permanent Required from 5th January 2026 The Governing Body and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to support pupils across the primary phase. The person appointed must: • demonstrate excellent communication skills • be able to establish effective relationships with pupils • have high expectations and a strong commitment to raising standards for all children • be able to provide learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, scaffolding and adapting learning programs to suit the needs of allocated pupils • be able to monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements, drawing any problems which cannot be resolved to the attention of the teacher Essential Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 qualification or its equivalent, plus 4 GCSE’s Grade A-C (including English and Mathematics or equivalent) The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.2 weeks (26 days) or 6.2 weeks (31 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 26 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 31 days annual leave.
