Education and Training Provided | Ideal for Psychology Graduates and sincere graduates who want to raise attainment with vulnerable children.

Location: Hillingdon
Salary: £101.40 per day
Start Dates: Monday 10th and Monday 17th November (trial days available)
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm), Term Time Only

Are you a Psychology graduate or aspiring Educational/Clinical Psychologist looking for meaningful hands-on experience working with vulnerable children?

We are offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Learning Support Assistant in one of our partner primary schools in Hillingdon, supporting children with Autism and complex Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is ideal for individuals who want to build skills and experience in a real-world, therapeutic learning environment.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will support children on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and feel safe and understood within school. You will be working with children who may be non-verbal, have sensory needs, or display behaviours linked to anxiety or communication challenges.

This position is particularly valuable for candidates who are pursuing a future career in:

1. Clinical Psychology
2. Educational Psychology
3. SEN or therapeutic support roles
4. Youth and Community Work
5. Social Work or Family Support

Key Responsibilities

6. Provide tailored support to children with Autism, learning differences, and complex needs.
7. Use alternative communication methods (such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices) to support understanding and self-expression.
8. Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
9. Promote children’s emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
10. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing environment.
11. Support personal care or mobility needs where required (training provided).
12. Record and monitor progress to support teachers and parents.

What We’re Looking For

13. Psychology graduates, or individuals interested in SEN, behaviour, or neurodiversity.
14. A passion for supporting children with additional needs and making a positive impact.
15. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff.
16. Patience, resilience, and a reflective approach.
17. Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
