Our client, a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company supplying specialised equipment to global industrial markets, is looking for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their busy team. You will be responsible for building and assembling a wide range of special‑purpose machinery to high engineering standards. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a practical mindset.
You will play a key part in ensuring the products are built to the highest quality, working both independently and collaboratively within a supportive and fast‑paced environment.
The responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter include but are not limited to:
* Assemble components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Build small sub‑assemblies through to full mechanical sections.
* Fit bearings, taper‑lock pulleys, gears and related components.
* Install pneumatic and hydraulic pipework.
* Carry out quality checks to ensure all work meets required standards and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Mechanical Fitter:
* Fully time‑served mechanical fitter with a recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
* Strong ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
* Confident with hand tools and power tools.
* Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
* A team player with clear communication skills and a positive, professional approach.
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 1:30pm Friday
