Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our team in our busy Stores Division. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the shopping experience for our customers through effective merchandising, upselling, and providing exceptional service. Candidates with experience in the building merchants, engineers merchants or plumbers merchants trades are highly encouraged to apply. You must live within 30 minutes drive of Matlock.
Responsibilities
* Primarily an office based role, you will answer the phone and emails promptly, greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs.
* Provide knowledgeable information about products and services to enhance customer satisfaction. .
* Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
* Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or queries.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of service.
* Keep accurate records of sales transactions and assist with inventory management as needed.
Experience
* Previous experience in retail or sales is preferred but not essential; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
* Strong communication skills in English are required;
* Basic math skills for handling transactions are necessary.
* Knowledge of an existing ERP system such as K8 would be an advantage
* Excellent organisational skills and time management abilities to ensure efficient operation during busy periods.
