:

The Manchester United Foundation works in some of the most disadvantaged areas taking Manchester United to the heart of the community.

The Street Reds project uses the power of football to give young people an opportunity to pursue their interest in playing, leading, and coaching the game as well as supporting the participation in educational and diversionary activities.

These free sessions are aimed at young people aged 8 -18 and promote inclusivity, provide regular physical activity opportunities and the ability to feel valued as part of a group. Enriching the lives of those who might become isolated. The sessions assist in developing a range of soft skills, increasing social mobility through inter project tournaments, employment and volunteer opportunities.

The main responsibility of the role is to support the delivery of the Street Reds community programme through football coaching and youth engagement activities on evening projects.



The Role:
1. To deliver high quality football coaching in line with the Manchester United Foundation values and identity and Street reds curriculum.
2. To deliver or support on the delivery of a curriculum of social education workshops designed to improve participant’s confidence, employability and personal development through football.
3. To help create a fun and safe Street Reds environment that is inspiring, dynamic, challenging, and educational.
4. To attend staff training and CPD as and when required.
5. To ensure that the Foundation’s code of conduct is upheld in all activities, delivery and physical appearance.
6. Uphold the Foundation’s Safeguarding policy and guidelines to ensure all young people are safe and looked after.
7. To maintain required qualifications in line with the FA Coaches license and other qualifications where required.
8. To be aware of an uphold risk assessment procedure for each venue worked at including Covid- safety guidelines.
9. Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is consistent with the purpose of the role and its level of responsibility, including the need to work at alternative venues.
10. To support the Head Coach in ensuring the delivery of sessions remains high and all suitable duties on the night are undertaken.
11. To support the Head Coach to register young people into the session, ensuring we are compliant with the Foundation consenting procedures.
12. To support the Head Coach in the collation of case study information for termly reporting to funders when required.
13. To fulfil any reasonable tasks as part of your role as requested by the project coordinator and/or department manager.
14. This position is a casual role and hours of work are from 5pm onwards and will depend on the assigned location.
15. Sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursday 5pm-7pm weekly.

The Person:

Education and Qualifications
16. Minimum FA Level 1 in coaching football (or equivalent)
17. First Aid qualification
18. Safeguarding qualification
19. A full clean UK Driving license - desirable
20. Youth work qualification – desirable
Experience
21. Experience working (paid or volunteering) with children and young people, preferably within a charitable, school or sporting environment.
22. Experience in positively engaging with young people in an educational, sporting or youth work setting.
23. Experience and confidence working with disengaged young people.
24. Experience in managing confrontation and conflict is also desirable.
