Industrial Cleaning Operative (Dayshift)
£350 bonus after 4 weeks for good attendance
Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for an Industrial Cleaning Operative (Dayshift) to join our successful client based in the Polmont FK2 area. Our client is a waste management specialist.
Duties & Responsibilities
As an Industrial Cleaning Operative you will be responsible for ensuring that the working environment is kept clean, tidy and free from hazards, and that materials are stored safely at all times. You will carry out technical cleaning activities of static machinery and work to relevant task risk assessments and SOPs.
General housekeeping and cleaning of machines & operator cabins
Use both water hoses and vacuums to clean the plant and surrounding area
Basic daily housekeeping including external litter picking of the site boundaries
Using basic hand tools to remove machine guarding for cleaning
Deep cleaning of industrial machinery, including trommels, conveyors, balers, and compactors
Removal of debris and waste build-up from equipment and work areas
Cleaning walkways, platforms, sorting areas, and other high-traffic operational zones
Using industrial cleaning tools such as pressure washers, scrapers, and vacuums
Reporting faults or potential maintenance issues with machinery to the supervisor
Following safe systems of work and using appropriate PPE at all times
Assisting with spill response and general site cleanliness to support safety and operational efficiency
Emptying bins, sweeping, and supporting hygiene standards across the site
Person Specification
The ability to work calmly under pressure
Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is essential
Must be comfortable working in a waste/recycling environment
Able to perform manual tasks in various working conditions
Ability to work independently and follow detailed cleaning schedules
Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
