Cobb & Jones are pleased to be working exclusively with a well known FMCG business based in West Kent, supporting them in their search for an Interim Finance Director, to cover a period of change and crossover. Depending on the profile, there is opportunity for this to be extended or go permanent, the urgent requirement is to ensure a suitable handover period with the incumbent.
To be considered, you must have leadership experience, have worked within FMCG (which includes Food, Retail, Wholesale / Supply and Distribution, Pharmaceuticals, eCommerce) and can be available either immediately or on short notice. If you cannot fulfil these requirements, we cannot consider your application.
Role Summary:
As Finance Director, you will be leading the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the domestic business units. Through management of BAU and team leadership you will ensure financial integrity, support strategic decision-making, and drive performance across all financial functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
2. Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with UK GAAP and corporate policies.
3. Partner with commercial and operational teams to drive profitability and cost efficiency.
4. Manage internal controls, risk management, and audit processes.
5. Support M&A activities, investment analysis, and strategic initiatives.
6. Liaise with Group headquarters on financial performance and reporting.
7. Lead and develop the UK finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
8. Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
9. Extensive experience in corporate finance, M&A, and strategic project management.
10. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
11. Experience of working in a high-volume, low margin industry is vital.
12. Transformation experience would be useful.
