If this sounds like you, we have an exciting opportunity to work across the Trust as a Peripatetic Support Worker within both our Residential and Supported Living Services.

The Role

As a Peripatetic Support Worker you will assist our supported people in every aspect of their daily lives. Through a person-centred approach you will enable them to feel valued, reach their potential and nurture their aspirations.

Peripatetic Support Worker Responsibilities Include


* Supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in all aspects of their daily lives based on their needs through a person centred approach
* Maintain appropriate records and written reports
* Provide good quality care and support, including administering medication and personal care
* Accompanying supported people to appointments and activities
* To be physically able to push wheelchairs and to use equipment such as hoist and slings (training will be provided)
* Responsibility for all aspects of house cleaning, washing, ironing and cooking meals
* Driving of manual vehicles

We have both Full time and Part time Peripatetic Support Worker roles available working variable shifts allocated on a monthly rota basis (including sleep-ins; awake nights and weekends)

Prior knowledge or experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided for this role.

About You

As a Peripatetic Support Worker you will ideally have:

Skills

* A good standard of written and spoken English
* A good standard of Numeracy
* A good standard of Computer Skills
* A good level of Employability Skills - for prioritising workloads and adapting to changing demands

Knowledge & Qualifications

* An appreciation of the needs of people with learning disabilities and autism as well as physical and sensory impairments
* An awareness of using specialist equipment (training will be provided)
* An understanding of Autism, Dementia, Epilepsy, emergency medications and seizure management (although not essential as training will be given)
* Care Certificate full training provided and a willingness to undertake Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care
* You should be 21 or over and have held a full driving licence (manual) for at least one year. You will be required to take supported people to appointments and/or activities.

* Considerate, supportive and be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic and professional
* Work well within a team environment, but also must have initiative be and able to lone work when taking service users to appointments and/or activities
* Flexibility, as you will work variable shifts across our services.

* Competitive salary plus allowances (Sleep-In £60.00; Awake Night £24.46 and Weekend Shifts £0.70 per hour)

Eligibility

All Appointments Are Subject To

* proof of eligibility to work in the UK
* an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service
* two satisfactory references (one of which must be from your current or most recent employer)
* full manual driving licence, be over 21 and must have been held for at least one year
