We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience to work out of our Northeast London water production sites.
As a successful candidate, you will using your mechanical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair as appropriate, mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment, in a safe efficient timely and effective manner with minimum supervision allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefits of our customers.

Main duties
1. Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors is always my top priority by always displaying the correct behaviours by complying with the Health and Safety at work regulations and Thames Water’s Health and Safety guidelines.
2. Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fixing these or escalating, and performing planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily.
3. Installing new plant and equipment as required in line with current Standards and Regulations.
4. Record work and asset information to improve business performance, along with identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required.
5. Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate, with up-to-date technical knowledge, along with coaching, training and developing staff under their supervision, including the apprenticeship programme
6. Delivering an excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction. Interacting with all of our customers (internal & external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
Base Location: Chingford WTW - E4 7PX.
Working Pattern 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby & overtime opportunity increasing earnings by a potential £8,000-£10,000
All PPE, Tools and Van are Provided.
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering.

14. Full UK driving licence
