About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by residents. You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, showing new starters how to use equipment, or cleaning spills, you’ll always prioritize resident wellbeing.
We are looking for someone with some kitchen experience, preferably with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are a must.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know the appropriate actions to take if concerns arise. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns if necessary.
