Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Principle Private Sector Housing Officer for a Local Authority Client in Uxbridge.
In this role, you will lead and manage a specialist team to deliver effective enforcement, licensing and regulatory action that improves housing standards in the private rented sector.
Duties:
* Manage and support a team handling complex housing disrepair and HMO cases.
* Oversee enforcement and compliance, including notices, penalties, and prosecutions.
* Ensure high-quality customer service and engagement with residents and landlords.
* Maintain legal and operational standards, preparing cases and evidence for tribunals or court.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Proven experience enforcing housing standards and managing compliance in the private sector.
* Experience acting as a witness in court or tribunal proceedings.
* Track record of supervising or mentoring staff and managing team performance.
* Skilled in investigating complex cases and preparing statutory notices, reports, and evidence.
What's on offer:
Salary: £41ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
