Overview
The Innovation Delivery Group (IDG) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. You will provide leadership for projects within the IDG portfolio, working closely with key stakeholders and directing the project team. You will be accountable for project performance throughout its lifecycle, ensuring achievement of high-quality outcomes.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when needed. An incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and supports communities and the environment. Further information on incident response can be found in your candidate pack.
Responsibilities
* Lead projects within the IDG portfolio, directing the project team and providing mentorship to team members as appropriate.
* Oversee project performance across the lifecycle to ensure delivery of high-quality outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications
* Significant experience leading complex projects or programs, preferably within engineering, construction, asset management and/or flood & coastal risk management.
* Formal project management training with demonstrated application of tools, techniques, and processes across a project lifecycle.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract management and procurement.
* Extensive experience in project financial management and forecasting.
* Experience managing and influencing senior stakeholders and developing stakeholder engagement plans.
* Strong report writing skills and experience producing effective business cases.
* Technical knowledge and leadership in risk management and health & safety compliance.
Desirable
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APMP).
* Training and experience with NEC contracts.
* Experience in preparing Scope of Services for appraisal and construction contract awards.
* Project management qualifications such as Prince2 Practitioner or APM PMQ.
