Description Key Accountabilities • Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure • Unload passenger luggage and cargo, bulk and/or containers/pallets, onto carts and/or dollies • Unload wheelchairs and child strollers and deliver to designated location • Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed • Deliver passenger luggage to reclaim/arrivals hall and unload onto conveyor system • Drive and/or operate ground support equipment to include tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, aircraft de-icing units, baggage carts, cargo dollies and Ambulift vehicles or passenger buses. • Collect and load mail, live animals, wheelchairs and child strollers onto aircraft • Ensure safe, dignified, and timely handling/lifting of passengers in accordance with aviation safety regulations and service standards • Service aircraft water and lavatories • Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and local procedures including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination. • Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol) • Inspect ramp areas adjacent to gate and aircraft for debris and remove/dispose of when found. • Carry out aircraft cleaning as requested. • Replenish Aircraft Catering – As scheduled • Carry out FOD BOSS and FOD sweeping activities • Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager • Comply with all, airport authority and carrier security requirements • Respond calmly and effectively to irregular operations or emergency situations as trained • To be responsible for your own self-development, undertaking training as appropriate. Knowledge, skills and experience Essential: • Working in a fast paced and quick changing environment • Ability to work with minimum supervision but also part of a team • Extremely well presented and of smart appearance • Highly motivated and enthusiastic • Extremely flexible • Ability to work to specified guidelines at all times • Ability to remain calm and methodical in stressful situations • Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders and work at heights in excess of 15 ft to perform role, repairs, or inspections • Lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms) • Means of transport to meet the needs of the airport business hours • Willingness to work in a shift environment (including weekends, bank and public holidays) Desirable: • Airline/Airport/ Travel Agency experience • Assisting people with reduced mobility and hidden and other disabilities • MEWP license • Forklift license • Level 2 Health and safety qualification • Awareness of GDPR legislation Other requirements • Ability to provide proof of previous five years of employment history and/or non-employment history for mandatory vetting purposes.
