Leg Ulcer Nurse – North Warwickshire and Rugby

South Warwickshire Foundation Trust Leg Ulcer Service, based in North Warwickshire, is offering a Band 5 Staff Nurse position for 30 hours per week. The post holder will be a well‑organised individual with a genuine interest in wound care management. The role involves collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (Vascular, Dermatology, Dieticians, Podiatry, Lymphoedema Services, District Nurses, etc.) to support individuals through their leg ulcer journey.
Main duties of the job
* Support the day‑to‑day running of nurse‑led clinics in North Warwickshire.
* Assess and manage the health needs of an identified population and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for patients with lower leg ulceration.
* Prescribe using the nurse formulary and ensure nurse prescribing is undertaken safely and cost‑effectively.
* Provide support to the team, including performance development reviews, clinical supervision, audit, education and training related to leg ulcer management.
* Act as coordinator in the care delivery of GP and District nurse caseloads.
* Work across professional boundaries, providing comprehensive health care sensitive to the needs of the population.
Job responsibilities

Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with NMC (Adult Nursing)
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Mentoring or a similar qualification
Experience
* Understands the need and importance of community nursing
Skills
* Demonstrate up to date knowledge and a wide range of clinical skills
* Understand research and evidence‑based practice and clinical audit
* Knowledge of the nursing process and ability to apply it in the community
