Job Description
Night Hygiene Manager – Food Manufacturing
Overview
We are supporting a well-established food manufacturing site in the Lichfield area with the recruitment of a Night Hygiene Manager. This role is critical to site performance, food safety, and audit readiness, offering ownership of the hygiene function during nights within a structured, well-run operation.
The site operates to high standards and places strong value on hygiene as a foundation of food safety rather than a tick-box exercise. This is a great opportunity for an experienced hygiene professional to take ownership, build capability, and make a visible impact.

* Leading and managing the night hygiene team to ensure effective cleaning and sanitation
* Delivering hygiene standards in line with BRCGS, food safety, and customer requirements
* Planning, coordinating, and verifying nightly hygiene activities across the site
* Ensuring equipment and production areas are clean, safe, and audit-ready for day shift start-up
* Managing hygiene chemicals, COSHH, and safe systems of work
* Conducting hygiene inspections, ATP testing, and verification checks
* Driving continuous improvement in hygiene practices, efficiency, and team capability
* Supporting audits, investigations, and corrective actions as required
This role requires strong leadership on nights and a proactive, standards-driven approach.
Candidate Profile
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
* Proven experience in a Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene role within food manufacturing
* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene systems, and BRCGS standards
* Experience managing teams on night shifts
* Confident, hands-on leadership style with attention to detail
You’ll be someone who takes pride in setting standards, leading from the front, and ensuring the site is ready to perform every morning.
