Brigantes PCN is looking to recruit an additional Pharmacy Technician to join our existing team. The current team have built excellent working relationships between themselves and colleagues across the PCN, practices and colleagues from other PCNs. Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with the PCN Pharmacy Team, GPs and other members of the PCN and practices. The post holder will work within a pharmacy hub with support and guidance from other pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to provide safe patient centred care. The pharmacy technician will provide technical and administrative support to the clinical pharmacists and clinicians within practice. The post holder will be supported by the clinical pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to respond to medication related queries and acute prescription requests within their competency, and medicines reconciliation following discharge from another care provider.
You must be independently mobile and be able to travel across the practices within Brigantes PCN and the wider Wakefield district

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the PCN pharmacy technician. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team whilst in a supporting function to the Clinical Pharmacist(s) and other clinicians for some medicine related matters and within agreed procedures
b. Carry out medicine optimisation tasks & prescription processing tasks.
c. Support with:
* medication reviews within your competency
* medicines reconciliation
* Housekeeping of patient records
* Patient counselling
* MHRA drug alerts / ICB medicines information
* Patient safety audits
e. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or the level of responsibility
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
Desirable
* Completion of CPPE primary care educational pathway.
Experience

* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Adaptable and quick to make relationships with new teams
* Flexible and cooperative
* Ability to identify risk and escalate appropriately
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Evidence of working autonomously or as part of a team
