We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor with experience in timber windows to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate on-site surveys and assessments for the installation, repair, and replacement of timber windows, primarily across social housing developments. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within specification, and to the highest quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out detailed site surveys and measurements for timber window installations and replacements.
2. Liaise with social housing providers, main contractors, site managers, and residents to coordinate access and survey timings.
3. Assess the condition of existing windows and recommend appropriate solutions in line with project scope.
4. Produce clear, accurate, and timely survey reports, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing and installation teams.
5. Identify potential challenges or risks during surveys and propose practical solutions.
6. Ensure all surveys are compliant with relevant building regulations, health & safety standards, and fire safety requirements.
7. Maintain up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
8. Work collaboratively with project managers, site teams, and procurement staff to support project delivery.
9. Provide technical input and advice during planning, pre-installation, and post-installation stages.
Requirements:
10. Proven experience surveying timber windows, ideally within the social housing or public sector environment.
11. Strong understanding of timber window systems, construction drawings, and installation methods.
12. Knowledge of relevant UK building regulations
13. Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and technical drawings.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
16. Proficient in using surveying tools and software
17. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable:
18. Experience working on social housing refurbishment or maintenance contracts.
19. CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
20. Qualification in construction, surveying, or related field HNC, NVQ, or similar).
