Design & Technology / Art Technician
Location: St Mark's School, Larkhall, Bath
Salary: Grade 3, SCP 5 - 7 (£25,583 - £26,403 FTE)
Actual Salary: £14,851 - £15,327
Contract: Permanent, Part-time (Term-time only + 5 INSET days)
Hours: 25 hours per week (8:30am – 3:15pm daily)
Start Date: 1st September 2026

At St Mark's, we are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic D&T and Art Technician to join our vibrant department. This is a unique role that sits at the heart of our creative subjects, covering everything from traditional workshop skills and CAD/CAM technology, to the fast-paced world of Hospitality and Catering.
The Role
You will provide essential technical and administrative support across several creative disciplines, including Product Design, Food Technology (Hospitality & Catering), Textiles, and Art. Your day-to-day will involve transforming workshops and classrooms into engaging learning spaces. From managing CAD/CAM equipment and laser cutters to sourcing high-quality ingredients for catering practicals, you will ensure our students have everything they need to succeed safely and creatively.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Creative Support: Demonstrating the safe use of machinery and assisting students with practical activities.
2. Technical Management: Overseeing the maintenance of specialist equipment and managing stock records.
3. Resource Coordination: Negotiating with suppliers to purchase materials and ingredients for Hospitality and Art.
4. Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all COSHH and Health & Safety regulations are strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment.
5. Showcasing Success: Helping prepare vibrant displays for Open Evenings and school events.
