The Medical Secretarial Service wants to hear from experienced Secretaries or Administrators, or those who have recently gained a qualification in administration, to fill the role of a Relief Medical Secretary.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Medical Secretary Team, providing cover for vacancies and long-term absences, and supporting additional clinical activity. Responsibilities will include waiting list management, arranging inpatient admissions and outpatient appointments, processing clinical correspondence, and providing administrative support to clinical and medical staff.

The ideal candidate should have previous secretarial or administrative experience, or have recently completed a college or university course in administration. Experience in transcription of audio materials with the ability to touch type is essential. A driving license with access to a car would be preferred, but applications from candidates with the ability to travel without a car will be considered.

The Medical Secretarial Service provides secretarial and administration support to medical, surgical, and clinical teams across the acute sector of NHS Grampian. There are opportunities for expansion and progression within the Medical Secretarial Service, including expanding knowledge into various other medical, surgical, and clinical services, or developing into supervisory, training, or management roles.

What We Love To See

* Previous secretarial or administrative experience, or recent completion of a college or university course in administration
* Experience in transcription of audio materials with the ability to touch type

* Ability to adapt quickly to changes in circumstance and move between posts with minimal notice
